Ma rencontre avec Milosz Magin

J'ai eu la grande chance de rencontrer Milosz Magin, pianiste et compositeur d'origine polonaise, lors d'un concert où j'interprétais la Fantaisie de F. Chopin. Je le retrouvai quelques temps plus tard à Nohant et il fut décidé que je travaillerai avec lui. J'ai pu bénéficier de ses précieux conseils pendant quelques mois, avant son décès soudain début 1999.

Avec le soutien de sa famille, son épouse Idalia et sa fille Margot, j'ai continué à étudier son oeuvre. En 2003 Mme Magin m'a offert l'opportunité d'enregistrer en Pologne le second concerto pour piano de Milosz Magin.

"I happened to hear Justine Verdier while on a visit to her native France a year or two ago and was very favourably impressed.
She is a young pianist of immense potential – she was only seventeen at the time of this recording and acquits herself admirably.
She studied with Magin and her sympathy with his music is evident here.

Jaroslaw Domzal is a somewhat more experienced soloist (though he was only in his twenties at the time of recording).
He plays with passion and a secure, full tone, entirely in sympathy with the ‘Polishness’ of this concerto.
The orchestral playing is perfectly adequate, while falling slightly short of the highest international standards."
